At the Boston Bruins' annual season ending media availability there were questions abound from reporters. Will captain Patrice Bergeron return next season? Spoiler: He will. What will the team do with goaltenders Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman moving forward? What happens on the team's blueline next season?
Plenty of questions and not enough answers in Boston, but there's an entire offseason to get a handle on things.
One of the toughest things to listen to today came out of the mouth of Bruins superstar David Pastrnak. Pastrnak and his wife Rebecca tragically lost their newborn son Viggo when Viggo was just six days old. Pastrnak made the announcement last offseason and requested privacy regarding the matter and, for the most part, fans and media have been respectful of his privacy on the matter.
Needless to say, the loss of Viggo had an enormous impact on Pastrnak this past season as it would on anyone. He spoke about what he and Rebecca have both had to go through as he spoke through teary eyes earlier today.
RIP, Viggo. As a father myself, I can't imagine what this couple has had to endure.
