Respect. Both to Patty and to the rival crowd in Vegas.

It's official: Nobody has played more games in the NHL than Patrick Marleau.

The 41 year old Marleau officially passed Gordie Howe's 1,767 all-time games played record last night as he and the San Jose Sharks took on the rival Vegas Golden Knights in his 1,768th career regular season NHL game. Incredible.

The Vegas crowd, usually more hostile with the Sharks than any other team in the league, put their differences aside for just a moment to show appreciation for Marleau and his incredible career.

Take a bow, Patty. You've earned a spot in history.
