An update on Brock Boeser's hand/wrist injury from practice today

Is the sniper out for Game 3?

Trevor Connors

UPDATE: Canucks insider Harman Dayal reports that Boeser is indeed NOT injured, despite a previous report from Predators insider Adam Kimmelman.

From Dayal:

Again, standby for official confirmation on Boeser's status for Game 3 or read below for our earlier report on Boeser.

The Vancouver Canucks received some brutal injury news earlier this week when head coach Rick Tocchet announced that starting goaltender Thatcher Demko will be out of the team's lineup 'week to week' with a suspected knee injury.

Then, just moments before the Canucks took the ice for Game 2 against the Nashville Predators fans also learned that veteran defenseman Tyler Myers was also out of the lineup with flu-like symptoms. So, in effect, the Canucks lost their starting goaltender and one of their top 4 defensemen just moments before the biggest game of their season. The result was a 4-1 loss to the Preds in Game 2.

Now, after the team's practice in Nashville today there are reports that star forward Brock Boeser could be out with injury, as well. Preds insider Adam Kimmelman is reporting that Boeser appeared to injure his hand or wrist in a powerplay drill.

From Kimmelman:

Standby for confirmation and an official news from the Canucks.

Read below for our earlier reports on both Demko's injury and Myers' illness.

UPDATE: The Vancouver Canucks will be without veteran defenseman Tyler Myers for Game 2 against the Nashville Predators.

From NHL insider Elliotte Friedman:

For our earlier report on goaltender Thatcher Demko's injury, read below.

This just in, according to a report from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko is injured and his status is questionable for the remainder of the team's first round series against the Nashville Predators.

From Friedman:

Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal confirms Friedman's report and adds that this might be a new injury and is not related to the hip surgeries that Demko has undergone the past couple seasons. Friedman was on the Pat McAfee show earlier today where he broke the news live.

From Friedman again:

More to come on this developing story.
