ANALYSIS : Most valuable goalie of the decade revealed!

There are many ways to analyse the performance of goalies in today's league. With statistical analysis elevated to a religious practice for some people, interesting nuggets of information will emerge once in a while. As a serious hockey website, we aim on giving you the best of the best. 

Anyhow, Twitter blogger Cole Anderson revealed these insane numbers about modern goalies. 

Just to be sure we're on the same page, this analysis tells us what's the difference between the goals a goalie is expected to allow subtracted by those actually scored on him. This difference in goals allows us to extrapolate on the number of points won/lost by the goalie compared to the expectation and therefore, the impact on the team standing. 

In this case, the clear winner is by far Henrik Lundqvist. With 12 points additional points given to his team EACH year, he's by far the most valuable goalie around. 

Of course, a goalie performance is not only a matter of statistics, but this one is telling a very clear story.
