Anna Kane raises new serious allegations against Evander Kane on social media

Vancouver Canucks forward Evander Kane is once again at the centre of public scrutiny after his estranged wife, Anna Kane, made a new round of allegations against him on social media earlier this week. The claims, which surfaced through a series of posts shared to Anna Kane’s accounts, have not been substantiated or verified by any legal authority.

Kane has already went through one of the most tumultuous stretches of his NHL career, balancing a challenging season on the ice with ongoing off-ice tension following a lengthy and public divorce. The couple’s disputes have repeatedly played out on social media, with both parties levelling accusations about personal conduct and lifestyle. The public battle between Anna and Evander has been very ugly with accusations that Anna is mentally unsound and accusations that Evander was unfaithful, addicted to gambling, betting on NHL games, fixing NHL games, soliciting prostitutes, physical and mental abuse and more.

In this latest instance, Anna Kane’s posts referenced new, serious claims involving a woman she identified publicly. None of these allegations have been investigated or confirmed, and neither the Canucks, Kane’s former team the Edmonton Oilers, nor the NHL has issued a statement regarding them.

Earlier this week, on her Instagram account, Anna Kane brought up very concerning details about allegations that Kane has raped the mother of Cecily Eklund, the young cancer patient the Oilers supported last season in Edmonton.

At six years old, Cecily was diagnosed with a brain tumour and underwent serious surgery.

The Ben Stelter Foundation helped Cecily to see an Oilers’ game where he met Kane, who then continued to post pictures and videos with her. According to Anna, he does this in order to look like a good guy, but he is in fact a monster.

And now Cathy Eklund, the mother of Cecily, appears to be saying the same thing. She allegedly messaged Anna to reveal how she was abused by Kane, and is hoping to get an investigation going to have him charge. She allegedly shared information on the assault, and how she could have DNA evidence.

Kane has not responded publicly to the most recent posts. In previous disputes, he has denied wrongdoing and accused his ex-wife of fabricating claims to damage his reputation. He was traded to Vancouver this summer from Edmonton.

The situation underscores once again how personal disputes and social media revelations can reverberate across the hockey world. While the allegations remain unverified, they have reignited online debate about Kane’s reputation, the responsibilities of professional athletes under public scrutiny, and the challenges organizations face when off-ice issues intersect with the game itself.

For now, the matter remains limited to social media claims, and no formal investigation or legal process has been announced.
