For the Toronto Maple Leafs, the good news is that they were finally able to break their lengthy postseason drought by winning a round for the first time since 2004. It certainly was satisfying for fans of the team to see their franchise get the monkey off their back by taking down the team that broke their hearts last season in the Tampa Bay Lightning.
However, their streak of not reaching the Eastern Conference Finals since 2002 is intact thanks to their Round 2 loss to the Florida Panthers, who advanced to the Final Four for the first time since 1996. And now that Toronto is officially in the offseason, the questions are once again starting as to what kind of changes are necessary to make.
What exactly is the status of head coach Sheldon Keefe? Was Game 5 against Florida earlier this month at Scotiabank Arena his final go-around as the team's bench boss? According to one Leafs Insider, it's a possibility.
