Another bad news in Montreal now affects GM Marc Bergevin
Let’s forget 2021-22 entirely, right?

The Montreal Canadiens looked awful in front of their own fans on Thursday night. The visiting Pittsburgh Penguins blanked the Habs 6-0 with goals from Sydney Crosby, Danton Heinen, Jake Guentzel, Teddy Blueger and Brock Ginn. While the Pens managed to snap a three-game losing streak, the Habs wrote history in quite an embarrassing manner. According to Sportsnet’s Stats, the Canadiens -14 goal differential is their worst in franchise history through their first 10 home games of a season.
This has been an awful start to the season, especially with Carey Price still absent after he entered the NHL and NHLPA assistance program before the regular calendar kicked off.
On Friday, another bad news fell upon the Canadiens as the team announced that general manager Marc Bergevin was confirmed positive for COVID-19 this morning.
“He is being monitored by the Canadiens medical staff and will follow the protocols set forth by the National Hockey League and the public health authorities.”
The Canadiens will attempt to avoid the outbreak that has put the Ottawa Senators out of order this past week with many games postponed due to a COVID outbreak.
This is another situation that will need monitoring in Montreal. Like the Canadiens don’t already have enough on their plates…
