Fans and players in Montreal are probably really looking forward to the end of disastrous season, but unfortunately for one Habs defenseman that end came a little premature.
Nathan Beaulieu, will end what has been bad season on a very sombre note after he suffered a season ending injury in Thursday night's win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. In the final minutes of the first period Beaulieu took a shot off the hand, and according to multiple reports that injury resulted in a broken thumb. With the Canadiens well out of the playoff picture it's enough to put an end to Beaulieu's season.
The Canadiens themselves have since confirmed those reports, and it's particularly unfortunate because Beaulieu was having a solid season from an individualistc stand point, despite the struggles for the Canadiens this season. His season ends with a career high 19 points, despite missing several games.
