Yesterday we learned that former National Hockey League great Tom Lysiak had died far too young at the age of 63, and today we have learned that yet another former NHL player has left us too soon.

The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Tuesday that former Stanley Cup Champion Rick MacLeish passed away on Monday night, he was just 66 years old. MacLeish was a key component of the Broad Street Bullies who won the only two Stanley Cup's in the organizations history in 1974 and 1985 respectively.

MacLeish played a total of 14 seasons in the league, and his impressive career includes 349 goals, 410 assists for a total of 759 points over his 846 career NHL games. Over that stretch he spent time as a members of the aforementioned Flyers, as well as the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Hartford Whalers and the Detroit Red Wings.

Our condolences go out to the MacLeish family in this most difficult time.
