The Nashville Predators won’t be in action at all this weekend. Earlier today, it was confirmed by the NHL that the game between the Preds and visiting Colorado Avalanche had been postponed to a later date due to flooding inside the Bridgestone Arena.
The Predators were hoping to be able to host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night, however, the league just postponed that game as well. A makeup date will be announced as soon as it can be confirmed.
The flooding allegedly happened due to a ruptured water line inside the arena. A lot of water had entered the concourse and videos have shown quite a bit of damage inside the arena.
The NHL revealed that the water main break has "significantly impacted the event level" of Bridgestone Arena. Team dressing rooms and the ice surface are located on the event level. Predators president and CEO Sean Henry told reporters that the water in the event level ranged from 3 inches to 3 feet.
Probably best to postpone both games!
