The Edmonton Oilers have been on a complete overhaul ever since the 2018-19 season ended with another disappointing result.

As captain Connor McDavid himself got fed up with another postseason playing golf - or in his case nursing a leg injury - CEO Bob Nicholson made the necessary changes to get the team back on track.

After hiring Ken Holland as the Oilers’ new general manager and got Dave Tippett to take over behind the bench, Edmonton has made many other tweaks and modifications to the front office, and another one came on Friday.

According to team insider Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal, Tyler Wright is taking Bob Green’s job as head of amateur scouting. However, he notes that Green will remain in the organization, he who has done a good job selecting talented players in the last several drafts. Wright served as the Director of Amateur Scouting for the Red Wings under Holland from 2013 to 2019.

The team is also adding pro scout Archie Henderson to the managerial staff.

Holland is not messing around this summer and the fanbase will hope that the Oilers will be ready on all levels for the upcoming seasons.
