The New York Rangers are facing the San Jose Sharks tonight, and team insider Larry Brooks of the New York Post has just revealed that another change has been made to the lineup for the contest.

New head coach David Quinn has made several changes in the past few weeks, hoping to motivate his players and improve the team's record. Since the start of the 2018-19 season, the Blue Shirts have posted a 3-7-1 record and are looking to get some wins despite being in the first year of a rebuilding process.

The Rangers jumped on the ice today to get ready for tonight's game and it seems that winger Pavel Buchnevich will be the healthy scratch for the contest.

There was already a hint that the right winger would be sitting out.  Buchnevich was benched for large periods of Sunday’s third period after a handful of uninvolved shifts, and on Monday, he skated on a practice fourth line with Filip Chytil and either Cody McLeod or Vinni Lettieri.

It was confirmed earlier today that Quinn had made his final decision on his status for tonight's game against the Sharks.

“Sometimes it takes a little longer,” Quinn said Monday to the New York Post. “Nobody has lost faith in him. There’s a growth process. Pavel has a lot of talent. We just have to get it out of him.”

In 10 games this season with New York, Buchnevich has managed to record three goals and five points. He will hopefully get motivated in the press box and ready to show his growth in time for the next contest.

As for the Sharks, they will be able to count on the return of veteran forward Joe Thornton, who is coming back after a nine-game absence.
