Another terrible update on Maple Leafs forward Max Domi.

A difficult summer for Max Domi just got even worse.

There was some very scary news regarding Toronto Maple Leafs veteran forward Max Domi earlier this summer and it now seems that those concerns may have been well founded.

Over the weekend the Maple Leafs officially announced that Domi would not be available for the start of the season, revealing that the complications from surgery that were reported earlier this summer continue to be a serious problem for Domi.

In the official announcement the Maple Leafs revealed that Domi would be out indefinitely, giving no timeline for his recovery, which makes sense when you consider just how serious the reporting around these surgical complications was at the time. Reports suggested that in the days following the surgery Domi was unable to walk, which is of course a gigantic red flag. That becomes especially concerning when you add the context that this is a professional athlete we are talking about.

John Chayka has spoken publicly on the matter, revealing that he will leave it up to Domi to address the matter more publicly when he feels he is ready to do so.

At this stage you have to believe that this could have some very serious long term ramifications for Domi's career... and perhaps more importantly his life. I can only hope that he makes a full and speedy recovery from this extremely unfortunate situation.
