The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired Ludovic Waeber and a conditional 2025 7th-round pick from the Florida Panthers, in return for goalie Magnus Hellberg.
Hellberg played in three games for the Penguins this season, finishing with a 1-0-0 record, .922 save percentage and 2.50 goals-against average. He has appeared in 26 career NHL games with the Penguins, Nashville Predators, New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators.
As for Waeber, he has yet to play a game in the NHL. He has participated in 15 games for the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers this season and has a 6-6-0 record.
