This just in, the New Jersey Devils have placed goaltender Keith Kinkaid on waivers.
Interestingly enough though, if Kinkaid does clear waivers successfully tomorrow, as I'd expect, he won't be assigned to the Devils' AHL affiliate Utica Comets, but will instead join the AHL's Chicago Wolves. That's because Kinkaid had previously signed an AHL deal with the Wolves before inking an NHL deal with the Devils this past offseason. The Wolves are the lone un-affiliated team in the AHL this season and are putting together somewhat of an AHL super team to take a run at the Calder Cup.
For what it's worth the 34 year old Kinkaid is on his second spin around with the Devils after a few years playing elsewhere in the NHL. He was originally signed by the Devils out of college and played parts of six seasons with the team from 2012 until 2018. Since then he's suited up for the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, Boston Bruins and Colorado Avalanche.
