This looks like bad news for the Ottawa Senators.

Senators goaltender Anton Forsberg has suffered a serious looking injury to his leg after colliding with Edmonton Oilers forward Zach Hyman during an afternoon game on Saturday. Forsberg was injured while attempting to make a save when his own teammate, Senators defenseman Travis Hamonic, appeared to shove Hyman into the net and directly down onto Forsberg's right leg.

Although the injury wasn't immediately apparent during live play, it appears as though Hyman knew right away that something had gone horribly wrong given his comments following the game.

"You hear him go down, you hear him in pain," admitted Hyman on Saturday. "I can’t do anything else ,I can’t do anything. I’m just stuck on him because there’s a guy who is on top of me, pushing me in. I almost stopped playing there, because I locked eyes and he was in pain.”

That guy pushing Hyman is of course the aforementioned Travis Hamonic who will no doubt be apologizing profusely to his teammate for a long time if this injury turns out to be as bad as it looks. Forsberg was unable to leave the ice under his own power and had to be carted off on a stretcher.

No official update from the Senators on the severity of the injury just yet.
