Anton Forsberg reveals his new Batman-themed mask!
Ottawa Senators goaltender Anton Forsberg has a new batman-themed mask and he's showing it off.
One of my favorite parts of the lead up to each and every new National Hockey League season is the goalie masks. I absolutely love seeing the new and creative art and designs that the goalies in the NHL come up with, and Ottawa Senators goaltender Anton Forsberg has not disappointed this time around.
Forsberg is going with a batman-themed mask this year, one that heavily incorporates images from Christopher Nolan's recent Dark Knight trilogy of movies and I honestly think it looks amazing.
Featured prominently on the mask are Batman villains Bane and the Joker and it is clear from the art that they are meant to represent how they were depicted in the movie. That is to say actor Tom Hardy's interpretation of the Bane character and the late Heath Ledger's interpretation of the Joker.
Batman is of course also featured on the mask in two different spots, as is cartoon character Peppa Pig which I must admit seems strangely out of place, but also likely has a special meaning to Forsberg himself. You can see the beautiful new mask in the short clip below courtesy of David Fried and Friedesigns, the creator of this beautiful artwork.
