Arber Xhejak TKOs Zachary Massicotte in Habs/Sens prospect game.

Arber Xhejak means business.

What should have been a friendly exhibition match between the prospects for the Ottawa Senators and the prospects for the Montreal Canadiens turned ugly on Sunday, thanks in large part to some rough stuff courtesy of Laval Rocket defenseman Arber Xhejak.

Xhejak was a one man wrecking crew for the Canadiens on Sunday and it all started just barely 5 minutes into the game when he delivered a late hit to former Ottawa Senators fourth round pick Viktor Lodin. That drew the ire of the Senators, but it did not draw a call from the officials overseeing the contest.

Xhejak would gain the attention of the officials later in the game however, doing so off the back of what was once again a questionable hit on the part of the young defenseman. Much like the hit to Lodin, this one also appeared to be late and this time that target was Ottawa Senators prospect Carson Latimer. Latimer appeared to be shaken up on the play and the officials did send Xhejak to the box, but as you will see that did nothing to stall his rampage.

All of these hits from Xhejak would lead to a response from the Ottawa Senators, one that came in the form of 21 year old defenseman Zachary Massicotte. Unfortunately for both Massicotte and the Senators, he may have bit off more than he can chew when it comes to squaring up with Xhejak.

After a fury of blows from the Canadiens defenseman, one finally connected cleanly on Massicotte and sent him tumbling to the ice, leaving no doubt about who was the victor in this particular tilt.
