Arizona Coyotes placed Antoine Vermette on waivers this Monday, as they want to buy out his contract.
Vermette having a no-mouvement clause, it was the only option for the Coyotes to get rip of Vermette’s contract. If they do so, only 1,25 M$ will be impacted on the team mass for this year and next year.
Even if the buyout window is closed, teams with salary arbitration with a player get a brief window after the close; Arizona has the opportunity to use it as they finally signed Michael Stone four days ago.
Vermette is only 34 years old and can still be a valuable player for a NHL team. Who will call first?
