If you decided to skip today's afternoon games in the National Hockey League you just missed a truly wild couple of seconds unfold during a game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Winnipeg Jets.

The Penguins were on the power play during the game's second period when Penguins goaltender Arturs Silovs made what would prove to be a fateful decision to leave his net and play the puck. The Jets had just cleared the puck down the ice but Jets star forward Kyle Connor was flying down the ice in an attempt to make a play of his own, a level of pressure that appeared to get the better of the Penguins netminder.

Silovs, who got to the puck first, would rush his attempt to play the puck along the boards which resulted in some of the worst puck management you've ever seen from an NHL goaltender. Instead of sending the puck along the boards, Silovs would bounce it directly off the boards and towards the Penguins net. This in turn gave Connor the opening for one of the easiest goals of his NHL career, that was at least until Silovs panicked once again and threw his stick at the Jets forward.

Connor would get a penalty shot as a result of Silov's decision to throw his stick at his opponent and Connor would make Silovs pay yet again, beating him clean on his penalty shot attempt.

An awesome moment for Connor and one that Silovs will probably want to put behind him as quickly as humanly possible.
