Keystone Press.

If you were worried about the potential special treatment first overall pick Auston Matthews might receive in development camp this season, when you imagined it, odds are it looked nothing like the special treatment he has received over the past two days.

After a flaw in his skating stride discovered by skating coach Barb Underhill made headlines yesterday, all eyes were on the Leafs top prospect again today. This time around Matthews ended up with a minor cut, one that required five stitches, after he was hit with a high stick from Maple Leafs 5th round pick in 2012, Dominic Toninato.

The Leafs probably weren't thrilled with Toninato, but Matthews was perfectly fine, and smiled for the cameras after the fact revealing that it was in fact a very minor cut.
