Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews is among the best known and most popular players in the entire National Hockey League, and for that reason it comes as no surprise that Matthews also boasts a legion of young hockey fans.

Many of those young fans were in attendance over the weekend for the NHL's annual All-Star Game, and much to his credit Matthews used the opportunity to make All-Star Weekend extra special for one group of young fans in particular.

Through the help of the Make-A-Wish foundation and Fanatics sports goods, Matthews was able to give 5 young children the surprise of a lifetime when he met them Friday morning at Toronto's Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Matthews signed gear for the kids and even helped blow out the candles on a birthday cake, treating 10-year-old Liam Emery, 5-year-old Cohen Arnett, 12-year-old Grayson Briones, 15-year-old Zackery Arsenault, and 12-year-old Logan Labelle to a day that they are sure to never forget.

Matthews continued to make time for the kids who showed up for the All-Star festivities throughout the weekend and on Monday the Maple Leafs released a video that showcases one of those truly magical interactions.

Throughout the video Matthews is shown being extremely kind and even going above and beyond what would normally be expected of an athlete in these situations. Matthews even promises to bring the young man back for another game in the future, something that leaves him beaming at the end of the short clip:
