Auston Matthews puts an end to his 13 game goalless drought.

The night certainly didn't end the way he had hoped after breaking his scoring drought but nonetheless this has to feel like a big weight off the shoulders of Toronto Maple Leafs rookie sensation Auston Matthews.

After exploding into the National Hockey League with an insane performance in his opening game things had slowed down for Matthews to the point of leaving him without a goal in 13 NHL games, that ended tonight against the Devils.

Not only did Matthews end his drought by picking up the first goal of the night, but he would go on to add a second goal in the game, giving the Leafs a cushy lead they unfortunately failed to hold on to.
