In case you missed it last night, the Colorado Avalanche absolutely ran over the Montreal Canadiens in Montreal, pumping eight goals past them in an easy 8-4 win.
It was a return of sorts for former Canadiens winger Artturi Lehkonen, who received a warm welcome from the Montreal faithful. The Finnish forward managed two goals and an assist and looked particularly dangerous with the puck. Unfortunately for him and for the Avs, he left the game midway through and did not return to action. Following the game the team announced that he had broken his finger and he would return to Denver, Colorado for treatment.
Check it out:
Ouch... tough break... literally.
The 27 year old Lehkonen has had a fantastic season and has put up career numbers with still 20 games left on the schedule. In 62 games, Lehkonen has a stellar 20 goals and 49 points. His previous career high came in 2018-29 with Montreal when he put up 31 points in 82 games.
