Avs unveil unique Stadium Series jerseys to mixed reviews from fans

The Colorado Avalanche officially unveiled their 2020 Stadium Series jerseys today and… well let’s just say that the fan reaction is mixed so far.

The Avs, of course, will host the Los Angeles Kings at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs, home of the U.S. Air Force Academy. It’s a spectacular setting for an outdoor game and one where the Avs will take to the ice wearing this unique look.

You know what? I love ‘em. 

NHL teams RARELY if ever stick their neck out and do something interesting when it comes to design. While this look may not be exactly to my tastes, I appreciate the effort to do something a little different. 

Another look:

On second look, how much do these remind you of the iconic "Flying V" jerseys that the Vancouver Canucks wore in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Anyone old enough to remember these beauties?

Again, not to my taste but it's encouraging to see a team do something different for once. What's your take? Pass or fail?
