So, as you may know already, Michal Nevirth collapsed in tonight's Flyers game against the Devils. Since Steve Mason was out already due to an illness, the goalie roster was pulled thin very quickly. Anthony Stolarz got into the game early and the team had to find yet another backup goalie.

It was Eric Semborski time to shine! The junior hockey coach was in the gallery when all this drama happened and he went down to the locker room and dressed up, just in case. However, he still had the Blackhawks helmet he had made when the exact same situation happened with the Chicago crew a few months ago!

Anyhow, through all this drama, the Flyers took a 3-0 lead and coach Hakstol wanted to do something special. With barely 24 seconds left on the clock, he sent Semborski on the ice!

However, the referees had to rain on everyone's parade on this one. They asked for Semborski to be pulled because you can't field more than one emergency backup goalie in the same game, short of a disaster.

The full sequence is here.

Still a cool moment for him, but it could have been even more!
