The Toronto Maple Leafs have a busy offseason ahead of them, and it sounds like their head coach is using the media to send a hint to upper-management.

According to a report from Sportsnet insider Chris Johnston, Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock has expressed that he would like veteran defenseman Matt Hunwick back in his line up for the 2017-2018 National Hockey League season.

Hunwick is coming off back to back seasons as a Maple Leaf, but his numbers saw a dramatic improvement in his most recent season. Hunwick went from a -17 over 60 games in 2015-2016 to a +8 over 72 games in 2016-2017

Hunwick also had 1 goal and 18 assists for 19 points on the season, a 9 point increase over his previous campaign as a Leaf.
