Bad news for Chicago's Taylor Hall, out long-term!

Former Hart Trophy winning forward Taylor Hall was one of many subtractions made this past summer by the Boston Bruins, as he and Nick Foligno were both shipped to the Chicago Blackhawks as part of a salary cap dump. 

And as fate would have it, Boston would open the season at home on TD Garden ice against the pair of former Bruins and the rest of the Chicago Blackhawks. Both players were actually honored during a pause in the action, to a nice reception from the crowd.

However, after a hit from ex-teammate Brandon Carlo, Hall was injured and will not be returning to tonight's game. 

After the game, head coach Luke Richardson confirmed that Hall was week to week with an upper body injury. He commented the hit from Bruins' Brandon Carlo, which he thought was blindsided. 

“I know exactly what it was; I used to do it all the time. But that’s out of the league now.”

Hall was one of Boston's bright spots during the unbelievable upset they suffered at the hands of the Florida Panthers, having scored seven goals with five assists during the seven game setback. This came on the heels of an average regular season output of just 16 goals and 20 assists from Hall, though he was limited to just 61 games due to injury. 

In 822 career NHL games, Hall has scored 264 goals with 429 assists.
