The Preds' GM is not happy.

According to a report from NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, Nashville Predators GM Barry Trotz has set a steep asking price for veteran forward Ryan O'Reilly.

From LeBrun:

The price on Ryan O’Reilly if the Predators decide to move him later this season would be a first round pick plus an A level prospect.

Uh... what?

Trotz knows that it's 2025, right? It's not 2018 anymore and O'Reilly isn't worth near that much on a trade. He still has one more season left on a four year, $18 million deal that pays him $4.5 million annually. He also has just six goals and 13 points in 22 games so far this season. Oh... and last season was statistically the worst season of his NHL career in over a decade.

But right... a 1st round pick and a top prospect...

Keep dreamin', Barry...

Incidentally, NHL insider Frank Seravalli reported earlier today that he has heard that the Predators' locker room is "the most toxic in the NHL, from top to bottom."

Check it out:

Trotz himself took offense to those comments and fired back at Seravalli on local Nashville radio earlier this afternoon.

"Not very accurate. Everbody has their own opinion," Trotz told 102.5 The Game. "Frank's not in our room. I know what toxic is and I don't feel we're there, so I probably disagree with him. Whoever's telling him that, I'd love for them to come and talk to me about it because I don't see it."

Wait... so you're telling me that Frank Seravalli is just MAKING things up!?!?! Well now I've heard it all...

It's worth reporting, however, that Trotz did NOT take offense to LeBrun's report on O'Reilly. So take from that what you may.
