Two huge men go toe to toe on Saturday night.
Two huge men got the crowd in Los Angeles going early on Saturday night when the L.A. Kings welcomed the Calgary Flames to Crypto.com Arena.
Less than 3 minutes had expired in the game when we were treated to a massive clash between between Kings defenseman Samuel Helenius and Flames forward Adam Klapka. Helenius is a huge man at 6'6 and 225 lbs but he was the one giving up the size advantage on Saturday night with Klapka coming in at a towering 6'8 and weighing in at a whopping 235 lbs.
The incident started after Klapka delivered a heavy hit to Kings forward Warren Foegele as Foegele appeared to be off balance, a hit that Helenius would take exception to. Although the hit happened in the Kings' zone, Helenius would chase Klapka all the way down to the other side of the ice before the two men would drop the gloves and go toe to toe.
As the two men squared off they began to trade shots back and forth with both men favoring their right hand, but soon it would be Helenius who would take over with a series of unanswered right hands to the face of his opponent. Much to his credit, Klapka stayed in the pocket and continued to fire back until the officials stepped in to separate both of these massive men.
