Bench clearing brawl breaks out in Montreal, Anderson and Wilson fight on the Habs' bench!
This game is officially off the rails! Old time hockey!
We've got some old time hockey playing out this evening in Montreal!
With the Montreal Canadiens holding a 3-2 lead heading into the 3rd period over the Washington Capitals the physicality has ratcheted up. It's been a physical game and a physical series, but tonight has been especially rugged. As the buzzer rang out to signal the end of the 2nd period tempers flared and things boiled over.
And that's putting it lightly...
Both benches emptied and punches were thrown. Most notably, Habs forward Josh Anderson and Caps forward Tom Wilson squared off on the Caps' bench!
It was absolute madness with seemingly every player pairing off with a partner.
