Bennett takes over the game with a rare first period hat trick.

The Flames and their fans were treated to a spectacular performance from rookie Sam Bennett on Wednesday night.

Bennett absolutely lit up the Florida Panthers with a rare first period hat trick that was part of a four goal period,from the Flames, all of which went unanswered. Johnny Gaudreau scored the teams second goal of the frame.

It was enjoyable to watch Bennett's progression from his calm cool professional demeanour on the first goal, to the very raw and emotionally charged reaction he had for his third goal.
