Reporters knew even before asking that many of the Boston Bruins’ players had suffered injuries they simply dismissed to take part in the Stanley Cup run.

Star player Patrice Bergeron had been said to be dealign with an injury, but never let it show on the ice or mentioned it during interviews. Finally, after the heartbreaking 4-1 loss at the hands of the new Stanley Cup champions St. Louis Blues, the veteran forward revealed the nagging injury he endured throughout the last run of the season.

He has been dealing with a groin injury.

A less-than-healthy Bergeron was a huge setback for the Bruins, but the veteran forward still managed to tally a goal and three assists in the seven-game Cup Final. However, none of those points came during 5-on-5 action. There were only two games of the series in which he found the scoresheet.

As of Thursday morning, I believe Bergeron is suffering from not just the groin injury, but also from a heartbreak…
