The Toronto Maple Leafs are getting a big return ahead of their matchup against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night, but despite the seemingly positive news many fans of the Maple Leafs have been left feeling disgruntled at the announcement.

First the good news. On Saturday the Leafs officially announced that star forward William Nylander would be back in the lineup after Nylander was activated off of injured reserve today. That of course is great news with Nylander continuing to produce at an elite level this season despite his team's struggles. Through 37 games this season, Nylander has 17 goals and 31 assists for a whopping 48 points and his return will unquestionably be a big boost to the Maple Leafs offense.

It was the second half of that announcement however that has rubbed fans the wrong way.

In order to activate Nylander off of IR the Maple Leafs had to make room on their roster and that unfortunately means that Leafs prospect Jacob Quillan will be headed back down to the American Hockey League. Quillan is a player that many fans feel should be getting a more consistent look at the National Hockey League level, but Quillan appeared in just a single game after his most recent call up and played a total of just 6 minutes and 15 seconds over that stretch.

The reaction to the news of Quillan being sent back down has not been positive.
