Two of the National Hockey League's original six teams have had talks regarding a potential trade.
A report from Chicago Blackhawks insider Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times has revealed that the Chicago Blackhawks have reached out to the Detroit Red Wings about possibly acquiring one of their two young forwards.
Chicago is reportedly interested in both Gustav Nyquist as well as Tomas Tatar and if Detroit continues to trend outside the playoff picture they may in fact be open to making such a deal. It's unclear what the Red Wings want back in this deal but Lazerus has speculated that they could be looking for help on the blue line.
Lazerus is one of the most reliable sources when it comes to the Blackhawks, and he claims to have had this information corroborated by two different sources so these talks are definitely happening.
