Big updates and bad news for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Tampa Bay Lightning got some big updates on two of their injured stars on Tuesday, but despite that the news will likely still be viewed as bad news by their fan base.

First up was the injured Ben Bishop, the Lightning's starting goaltender who hasn't played since leaving on a stretcher earlier in the series, and who many expected to return at some point during the Eastern Conference Final.

According to a report from Lightning insider Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times, Bishop had his best day since the injury, practicing with his teammates and taking shots in goal, but despite that he's still not ready to go, and will sit out Game 6 with the Lightning have a chance to close out the series.

There's also the matter of superstar forward Steven Stamkos, who hasn't appeared in a single postseason game for the Lightning thus far as a result of complications from blood clots. Much like his teammate Ben Bishop, Stamkos told Joe Smith that he had his best day yet out on the ice, and continued to practice even after many others had retired to the lock room, nut much like Bishop he's not there yet.

The Lightning will need to do it without two of their top player's if they hope to send the Penguins out of the playoffs this evening.
