The GM of the Wild reveals how Evgeni Malkin nearly killed his dog.
Pittsburgh Penguins star forward Evgeni Malkin is beloved around the National Hockey League for his carefree disposition and all around good nature, but sometimes there can be such a thing as being too nice.
Minnesota Wild general manager Bill Guerin has shared an absolutely hilarious story about his former teammate, sharing some hilarious anecdotes from the time the two men were both members of the Penguins roster. The most unbelievable of these stories was Guerin revealing that Malkin nearly killed his dog during a Superbowl party, with Malkin trying to be the nice guy by sneaking the pooch some extra treats.
"He almost killed my dog one night by overfeeding," said Guerin. "I swear to god. We were at a Superbowl party and he's feeding it sausage and meatballs."
Although Malkin was extra nice to Guerin's pooch, who was probably in love with Malkin at the time of receiving those delicious treats, he wasn't at all shy when it came time to giving the older Guerin a good ribbing.
"Why you so slow, you old! You old!" exclaimed Malkin according to Guerin.
It didn't end there either with Malkin scrutinizing his teammate's entire career in the National Hockey League according to Guerin.
"He's one of the funniest guys you can be around," admitted Guerin. "He would look up my old contracts and be like 'What? No you no good!' He would kill me, Geno would kill me."
Luckily for Guerin he would only have to endure the ribbing from Malkin for 2 seasons, the final two seasons of Guerin's career in the NHL, including a Stanley Cup winning season in which the two men won hockey's ultimate prize together back in 2009.
