Blackhawks’ Alex DeBrincat hits the trade market!

It appears that the Chicago Blackhawks are looking to shake things up and there is no doubt the entire league will feel it.
Insider Frank Seravalli has reported that the Hawks are hoping to make significant changes, and it could mean that star player Alex DeBrincat might land on the trade block.

“My sense is that the Chicago Blackhawks know they need to shake things up there regarding the trade deadline. Alex DeBrincat, Brandon Hagel, and Dominik Kubalík are all potentially available."

Many fans would have expected DeBrincat to be on the team’s list of untouchables. But no… This is how Seravelli put it:

“The guy that I got circled there that is going to be an interesting conversation is Alex DeBrincat. He’s a guy that has scored at will, it seems. Has one more year left on his deal at $6.4M and then at the end of it is a restricted free agent. He’s got 23 goals this season, a pretty significant pace that he is playing at, and my sense is that the Blackhawks know they need to shake things up and I think the general consensus is that Toews, Kane, and Seth Jones are the three untouchables. If you’d like to take a run at Alex DeBrincat, at Kubalík, at Brandon Hagel, or at Ryan Carpenter, go down the list and they are all potentially available.”

This is insane: isn’t he the only player that is under 25-years-old worth a damn to the organization?! A forward like him does not come around that often… I personally thought DeBrincat would be a cornerstone of the franchise’s future.

Fans are aware that captain Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are not going to be moved unless they ask to be traded, but many believe DeBrincat should be up there with them!
