For the first time in a long time, Chicago Blackhawks fans are about to get some good news.

Of course, we know that Blackhawks superstar Connor Bedard was diagnosed with a shoulder injury earlier this offseason and was given a four month timeline before he can return to action.

Well... hold the phone because Bedard is back on the ice today less than two months after suffering his injury.

Check it out:

Let's gooooooooooo!

Bedard’s NHL career has been nothing short of spectacular when he’s been healthy, but the one thing that has started to become a bit of a concern is his injury history.

Bedard missed 12 games during the 2025-26 season after suffering a right shoulder injury against the St. Louis Blues in December. The injury happened in the final seconds of the game and kept him out for nearly a month. Even with the missed time, Bedard still managed to finish the season with a career-high 75 points in 69 games.

There was also a broken jaw that cost Bedard time during his rookie season in 2024. He returned from that injury and went on to win the Calder Trophy, so it certainly didn't derail his first NHL campaign.

Now, however, the Blackhawks are dealing with another shoulder issue. Bedard suffered a left shoulder injury during an offseason workout in Vancouver and underwent surgery in July. He's expected to miss the beginning of the 2026-27 season, with a potential return in November.

Nobody is suggesting Bedard is destined to become an injury-prone player, especially given how early he is in his career. But two shoulder injuries in the span of seven months certainly aren't ideal. For Chicago, the hope is that this latest surgery puts the issue behind their franchise player once and for all. After all, the Blackhawks' entire rebuild is built around No. 98 being on the ice.
