In case you've been living under a rock for the past 24 hours, the Chicago Blackhawks organization was absolutely turned upside down yesterday following the release of an independent investigation into the team's handling of sexual assault allegations dating back a decade.

The team is alleged to have covered up a sexual abuse scandal from within the organization after an unnamed player came forward with allegations that video coach Brad Aldrich sexual assaulted him during the 2010 season. Longtime Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman resigned from his position as a result of yesterday's findings and team owner Rocky Wirtz announced that anyone still in the organization from the time of the alleged assault would be dismissed. Former Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville, now with the Florida Panthers, and then-Blackhawks assistant GM Kevin Cheveldayoff, now with the Winnipeg Jets, have also been implicated in the alleged cover-up.

Now, the man who brought this entire story to light, the victim, known only thus far as "John Doe" has announced that he will reveal his identity and tell his story this evening on TSN's Sportscentre.

From TSN's Rick Westhead:

It's worth noting that because the Blackhawks have made the 109 page independent investigation public that many fans have begun to speculate as to John Doe's identity already. The report clearly identifies the player as being 20 years old, being one of the team's top prospects at the AHL level and being a prominent fighter and/or enforcer. While I won't list off names in this article, a cursory review of the 2009-10 Rockford IceHogs' roster makes the answer fairly obvious.

In any case, John Doe did make a statement yesterday through Westhead after news about the report was made public:

It's worth noting that Westhead's work on this story has been awe inspiring. While so called "major hockey reporters" like Elliotte Friedman, Chris Johnston, Darren Dreger and Pierre LeBrun refused to report on this story until it hit the news cycle, Westhead has been out there doing real journalistic work since day one. Frankly, I think tonight's interview between Westhead and John Doe will be appointment television.
