Blackhawks make a decision on their next captain
The right choice? With Toews gone this seems like the best choice?

Chicago Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson announced today that the team will forgo having an official captain for the 2023-24 NHL season.
From Blackhawks insider Charlie Roumeliotis:
Of course, longtime Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews left the team this past offseason and has elected to take the upcoming season off, with a plan to sign elsewhere as a free agent in 2024-25. There were some rumblings that 1st overall selection Connor Bedard could be named captain this upcoming season, but I'm glad to see that the team chose not to do so. Putting so much pressure on an 18 year old rarely ends up well for anyone involved. The Blackhawks were wise to let Bedard acclimate himself before adding any pressure.
There were also some rumblings that the Blackhawks were considering naming veteran defenseman Seth Jones as their next captain, but again it looks like they've decided otherwise.
Thoughts, Blackhawks fan? Maybe go get yourself a Bedard sweater without the "C" sewn on. Chances are it'll be vintage by this time next year.
