Minnesota Wild forward Yakov Trenin has left tonight's game against the Dallas Stars after Stars forward Colin Blackwell absolutely obliterated him with an enormous open ice hit.

Check it out:

I can't really fault Blackwell or Trenin for how this hit played out given the ridiculous suicide pass that Trenin received from defenseman Zach Bogosian.

Like... are you kidding me, Bogo?

What an awful pass from a veteran player who should know better.

Here's hoping Trenin is okay, he looked like he was in some distress as he headed off the ice. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a broken nose thanks to that boneheaded play by Bogosian. Tough break for Minny.
