Blue GM Doug Armstrong confirms the worst for Torey Krug
This is awful. All the best to Krug and his family.
The St. Louis Blues met with the media today to wrap up their season after being eliminated from the playoffs by the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday evening.
In all the discussion about the upcoming offseason and the team's roster make-up for next season, GM Doug Armstrong all but confirmed that defenseman Torey Krug's NHL career is over.
When asked about Krug's status for next season, Armstrong says that he doesn't expect Krug to play again.
Krug missed this entire past season after undergoing ankle surgery. He hasn't played a game since April 10th, 2024 and has two years remaining on the massive seven year ($6.5M AAV) deal that he signed back in 2020. The 34 year old ends his stellar career with 89 goals and 483 points over 778 games split between the Blues and the Boston Bruins.
