If indeed the St. Louis Blues lose their second round series to the Colorado Avalanche the entire series can be summed up in two words: Nazem Kadri.

Kadri, of course, has been Public Enemy #1 since "accidentally on purpose" injuring Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington earlier in the series and tonight... well... Kadri is up to his old tricks.

Kadri followed up that performance with a game for the ages in Game 4. The gritty forward put up a hat trick and found himself involved physically in a very entertaining game.

Check out Kadri scoring the go-ahead goal and then giving Blues fans a bit of the Hulk Hogan "Let me hear you!" gesture:

As you might imagine, that didn't exactly endear Kadri to the Blues' fans or the team's players.

Check out this sequence from the very next play in which Kadri is absolutely mugged by Blues forward Pavel Buchnevich:

After scoring his second goal of the game Blues forward David Perron tried to deliver a vicious elbow to Kadri, but ultimately missed:

Had Perron connected on that things could have gotten REAL ugly, REAL fast. As it is, I'm not sure anything happens in the way of supplemental discipline.

Kadri shook things off and managed to complete the hat trick en route to a 6-3 victory.

After the game Kadri personally called out Blues head coach Craig Berube for neglecting to comment on the racist attacks that Kadri received online following his collision with Binnington. When asked earlier in the day for a comment on Kadri and reports that Blues fans had attacked him online Berube elected to issue a "no comment."

That clearly didn't sit well with Kadri and it even inspired him to put up his incredible performance last night.

From Kadri:

Safe to say that Kadri is living rent-free in the Blues' collective head right about now.

Personally, I find it very ironic that Kadri's career has completely turned around to the point where now HE'S the person goading people into making poor decisions.

As far as the stupid, ignorant, racist messages that Kadri has received, his wife Ashley shared some of the messages early this morning and... well... frankly they're stupid, ignorant and racist. Go figure.

According to Mike Stephens of The Hockey News, a family member of one of the offenders in the above messages has reached out to him and requested that the messages be removed. Why? Because the offender was drunk and is now dealing with the fallout.

I've got to say... I'm kind of torn here.

Sure, this guy (presumably a male, I have no idea) said some awful, heinous stuff but at what point are we going too far? Should this guy have his life turned upside down because he's a piece of trash? Some may think so and they're entitled to that opinion, I however am not a believer in an "eye for an eye" punishment. Enough is enough, let's learn from this and move on. There's hockey on tonight, after all.
