Bouma sends himself flying over the boards and into the bench.

I love hits, I think the vast majority of hockey fans do, but sometimes hits are at their best when they fail completely.

On Friday night Lance Bouma had one of those moments that will be showing up on highlight reels for all the wrong reason, but on the bright side it was one hell of a quick way to make a line change happen.

Bouma attempted to line up Arizona Coyotes defenseman Zybnek Michalek for a big hit along the boards, but Michalek appeared to see him coming and immediately halted his forward momentum, leaving Bouma with nothing but empty air to hit, and the end result was him going up and over the boards onto the Flames bench.

Perhaps the best part of the video though is Bouma's face when he's getting up, even he can't help but laugh at the whole situation.
