Bowen Byram explodes his stick on the net after Sabres lose in OT
That's 5 straight losses. At home. Something's got to give.
The Buffalo Sabres dropped their fifth consecutive decision this evening to sink even further in the NHL's Atlantic Division standings.
Even worse? They've lost all five games on home ice.
It was an all too familiar sight for Sabres fans at KeyBank Arena this evening as the team failed to hold on to two separate leads and ended up losing the game on some sloppy defensive coverage. After gaining and giving up the lead twice, the Sabres lost to the Winnipeg Jets in overtime on a play that was just a complete mess.
The Sabres give up a nearly two man breakaway and then get sloppy on coverage in front of the net, resulting in Jets captain Adam Lowry being left unchecked on the doorstep. Sabres forward Alex Tuch whiffs twice on his defensive responsibilities, while defenseman Bowen Byram can't find the puck in his feet. Byram would then take his frustrations out on the goal post.
