Great stuff from Marchand!
The Boston Bruins are off to a red-hot start in the young 2022-23 NHL Season thanks to balanced scoring and clutch goaltending. And the even better news was that their 6-1 record was accomplished without arguably the most important offensive player on the roster behind that of David Pastrnak in notorious scoring pest Brad Marchand.
You'll remember that Marchand missed the first portion of his team's schedule as he continued his rehabilitation from offseason double hip surgery, and he was originally slated to be out of action until at least November. But according to the man himself, he had no intention of waiting on the shelf for that long.
"They told me it was going to be end of November, I said," explained Marchand. "It’s not going to be end of November. We’re going to see what we can do."
Marchand is making his season debut tonight against Boston's Original 6 rival, and has already picked up his first point with the secondary assist on Charlie Coyle's 1st period tally, giving the Bruins a 1-0 lead:
