Brad Marchand given misconduct after rift with John Tavares and official!
This game is quickly getting out of hand.
The Boston Bruins are having a hard time keeping up with their Original 6 rivals tonight, as the Toronto Maple Leafs enjoy a 6-2 lead after 40 minutes of play that has been marred by several instances of chippiness on the ice.
Of course, Toronto forward Ilya Lyubushkin has already been lost for the evening after he was sucker punched in the side of the head by forward Taylor Hall. Connor Clifton proceeded to deck Alex Kerfoot after a Leafs goal, though the Leafs forward certainly did his part by selling it in hopes of drawing a penalty.
At the end of the 2nd period, notorious pest Brad Marchand cross checked Leafs captain John Tavares in the ribs and proceeded to jaw at him while being restrained by an on-ice official. It wasn't long before Marchand earned himself a 10-minute misconduct for his actions after he said something over the line to the referee:
