McDavid talking about Brad Marchand.

In a pre-game interview, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid talked about NHL goal-leader Brad Marchand ahead of their teams meeting in Edmonton tonight.

When asked about Marchand’s scoring streak in the second half of the NHL seasons, McDavid was complimentary, saying: “It’s Impressive”.

“They’re a good line for sure, they have it all: size, toughness, skill.” McDavid said of the Bruin’s top line. Of Marchand in particular the Oilers captain admitted “he definitely is a guy that’s not fun to play against. He plays hard, you know, tries to get under you skin and all that stuff. So to be able to do that and be able to put up the points he’s putting up is really impressive”.

With both teams fighting for playoff positions, the matchup between McDavid and Marchand will likely take center stage. Both players are in contention of the Hart Trophy for the League’s MVP and the Art Ross Trophy for the league’s highest scoring player.

Marchand has 36 goals and 40 assists for a league leading 76 points. That lead is shared with McDavid, who has 24 goals and 52 assists, and the Chicago Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane (31 goals, 45 assists, 76 points).

McDavid and the Oilers will be looking to halt the Bruin’s four-game winning streak, Marchand and company won’t make that an easy task tonight in Edmonton.
