There has been a lot of pressure on the members of the Boston Bruins as of late, and Brad Marchand is acutely aware of what it means for his team. In a recent interview with CSN New England Marchand pulled no punches, and sent a clear message to the
“This is a team where we’re expected to win every year. It’s been that way for a while. There’s a lot of pressure on this group, but with that comes pressure that you need to live up to it, and if not you’re forced to deal with the consequences. “We understand that this is a big situation. If we don’t pull together then this is going to be a much different group next year, I’m sure. I don’t think anybody wants that. Hopefully we realize that, come together and allow this group to stay together.”The pressure, at least publicly, seemed to be focus on the jobs of General Manager Peter Chiarelli and Head Coach Claude Julien, but Marchand has now placed that same pressure firmly on the shoulders of the Bruins players. If Marchand is right, and the Bruins fail to make the post season, we could see a very different Boston team come next season.
